Legion of Mary
Legion of Mary - 2024-2025
This year’s Legion of Mary group meet regularly for prayers and to serve others. Our Legion of Mary group is called ‘Queen of the Family’ and we have 14 members who meet in the chapel every Monday lunchtime. We share spiritual readings which help deepen our faith. We pray together and report on our work which includes altar serving, participating in groups at school and helping at home. We are especially busy around school during the months of October and May when we help with rosary groups, crowning Mary, providing flowers and caring for the grotto.
Our task this term is to make a handwritten and illustrated prayer book for each class.
Quote from a member of Junior Legion of Mary
“Legion of Mary is an eye-opening group that is very inspirational. Being part of the group has shown me what it means to believe in God and how to be a respectful, responsible member of the community. There are opportunities to use my talents. I try to be like Mary in the choices I make.”
Summer 2023
During their meetings, children from the Legion of Mary made some prayer resources that help guide people to pray the rosary. Each of the mysteries was beautifully illustrated as part of a prayer wheel. These were delivered to St Agatha’s Legion of Mary group, in Mongu, where they were gratefully received and will be used each week by adults and children. We pray for our friends in Zambia and they pray for us.

2019 - 2020
The Junior Legion of Mary represented our school at the Diosecan Mass in Dunstable when schools from around the diocese gathered to pray with each other and for each other.
