Year 5
Preparing for Easter
The Lenten Promise Tree in Year 5’s classroom: we wrote our promises of how we would fast, pray and give during Lent. The tree, which was bare until then bloomed beautifully with all our promises.
Primary Engineers DT Project
It takes a lot of measuring, cutting, sawing and gluing to make a motorized model car! Year 5 is half way through the design and construction process. Some cars will be chosen to represent the school in a competition next term.
Round the World Day
Year 5 celebrated their learning by having a ‘Round the World’ day. The day started off by children learning a dance from either Russia, Spain or India. They then put together a fantastic display to show what they had learnt about different countries. Well done Year 5 - it was fantastic to see the hard work you put in with your quizzes, food tasting, models and fact-files! I hope Year 6, family and friends who visited the display enjoyed it as much as we did.
Viking Day
Year 5’s Viking Day was brilliant! The workshop covered a wide spectrum of Viking life and times, from home-life to battles. The children got to handle a range of high quality reproduction artefacts and participated in a series of practical activities, which included making a Viking coin, dressing-up, playing musical instruments and even taking part in a battle!
