Year 4F

Anglo-Saxon Amulets

In our Art lesson this week, 4F created their clay amulets – they worked hard and enjoyed an  afternoon of being creative!

We started our new topic by exploring what makes friendships strong! We likened this to the analogy of a bridge and worked together in groups to create our own mini bridges!

Amulet Prototype

In our Art lesson this week, 4F learned what a prototype was and then created their own prototype for their Anglo-Saxon amulet. We practised using the tools and techniques to create a fantastic first version!

Properties of Solid, Liquid and Gases

We started our new Science topic by exploring the properties of solids, liquids and gases. We then sorted out different things and decided which group they belonged to.

Shared Reading

At STA, we now do shared reading (where each KS2 class is partnered with a KS1 class) every other week. Each child has a buddy to read with and to build a special friendship with.

Easter Cracked

We enjoyed exploring the Easter story at St Andrew's church during our Easter Cracked session!

Ancient Maya

Year 4 had a fantastic day learning more about the Ancient Maya! We were able to taste chocolate, learn about their rituals and put together our own drama performance based on an aspect of their life!

World Book Day

We had an exciting day on World Book day dressing up and doing lots of activities! We also enjoyed listening to Pep the Poet and joining in with his fantastic poems!

Pop Art

Year 4 have worked hard in their art lessons to produce some eye-catching Pop Art! They used Andy Warhol’s Campbell's Soup Cans as inspiration for their recycled art work and worked on skills such as sketching, colouring and observing closely.

String Telephones

Today, we created string telephones and had a great time examining what happens to sound as the distance increases.

Bletchley Landfill

We have been learning lots about Bletchley Landfill and what the land used to be like. We made eye-catching posters to show all our knowledge!

We had an exciting start to our Sound topic by using instruments! We learned that all sounds are produced by vibrations; everything from clapping your hands to playing an instrument to knocking on a door!

Bletchley Park

Despite the bad weather, Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Bletchley Park where they participated in a workshop about how Careless talk costs lives, had a guided tour of the mansion, huts and then got to explore other parts of the museum too! We learned lots and understood more about how our local area, Bletchley, was so significant in World War 2!

Class Assembly

Well done to Year 4F on their fantastic class assembly! They all spoke really clearly and the songs were fantastic,  definitely delivering a performance to remember!

The Digestive System

Year 4F had a great time getting their hands dirty and learning about the function of the parts of the digestive system!

To start our new DT project, we tasted a variety of different cakes, rating them on appearance, texture and taste!

Fantastic Art

Year 4 had a fantastic art lesson printing in the style of William Morris!

Campbell Park

Year 4F had a fantastic time at Campbell Park. They learned lots more about how to use a compass to navigate to different areas.
