Holy Spirit Day

Holy Spirit Day 2018

To celebrate the wonderful feast of Pentecost, we held a Holy Spirit Day in school where all lessons had a Spirit theme.  We started the day with an energetic assembly with Rev Brian and a Roman soldier who was dressed in the armour of the Holy Spirit.

The beautiful weather allowed the Bridgebuilder Trust  to set up prayer spaces in the Spanish Courtyard and the children from Years 5 and 6 were invited to spend quiet, reflective time focussing on the themes of feelings and forgiveness, uniqueness and talents.

Year 3 had the opportunity to do liturgical dance with Mrs Callaghan and KS1 heard stories with Maryann from Children’s Ministry. Rev. Catherine visited classes to deliver the fruits of the Spirit and all classes completed some collaborative art work. There was also wind and fire themed music, doves, drama, puzzles and poems. A great day to celebrate the birthday of the Christian Church.
