Year 3HTL

Roman Flags

In DT we designed and made our own Roman flags. We learnt how to make a paper pattern and how to use this in textiles. We then cut, sewed and created our flags. We think the end result is fantastic!

Should Romans Rule the School?

Year 3HTL put on a fantastic assembly all about the Romans and why they should rule this school! All the children participated and sang beautifully – well done 3HTL!

Light and Shadow

Year 3HTL have been exploring Light and Shadow during our Science lessons.  We have learned about different light sources and investigated which surfaces are reflective. We have tested and identified some opaque, transparent and translucent materials.  The children have proved that light travels in straight lines and have explored how and why shadows change size and direction.  What a fun topic to learn about!

The Big Dig

3HTL became archaeologists for the day, digging in mud to find artefacts to help us learn about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age.   While we were digging we found lots of different objects from different periods of time. We had to sort them into artefacts from the past and artefacts from modern day. We had a fantastic time and learnt what it might be like to be an archaeologist and how objects found can tell us about the past.
