World Book day took the children by surprise this year as the day was celebrated two days early, with all teachers dressed as a character from a book.
All of the children were put into mixed age groups for the day and each group then paid a visit to three of the ‘book characters’ for some very special activities, including doughnut eating, creating monsters, learning a Spanish action song and making Mr Men puppets.
The day was a huge success enjoyed by children and staff alike.
World Book Day 2012 was a great success. Everyone came to school dressed as a character from a book (even the teachers!) and there were many exciting events taking place, including a book quiz. Everyone brought in their favourite book and we had the chance to talk about it with other children. Each class got to work with another class in a readathon. It was great to listen to each other read!
