World Week
Monday 4th February saw the beginning of World Week at St. Thomas Aquinas School. World Week was a celebration of the countries and cultures represented within our diverse school community. The children tasted food from different cultures, listened to an African story told by Mrs Jeanne, created world music with Mrs Kelly and learnt all about the many different countries that Mrs Durcan has visited. We were visited by a specialist dance teacher who taught each class a dance inspired by different cultures and countries.
Each class learnt about one particular country and created a display based around that countries culture. Parents were able to view the displays at the World Week coffee morning on Tuesday 12th February.
World Week ended with a final assembly where some of the children showcased some of their national costumes and dress. Each class shared some of the fantastic work they had completed during World Week.
Thank you to all the parents who kindly gave up their time to work with the children. They thoroughly enjoyed the week.
