Jubilee 2025 Pilgrims of Hope
Jubilee Pledge Day
The whole school took part in the CAFOD Pledge Day and we promised to make a difference by being loving peacemakers and seeking justice for a better world. The day was full of workshop, promises, helping hands and a pilgrimage too!

Hearts of Hope
Following an assembly, a wooden heart was sent home with each family and they were invited to think about their hopes for the future and to share, talk and pray together. The hearts were then brought back into school to be displayed on our Tree of Hope.
"What a lovely idea to mark the Jubilee year. We enjoyed doing it together and the tree is full of hearts.’ Yr 5 parent
Lord Jesus,
We pray that you will fill our hearts with hope,
a hope that is based on your unwavering love.
Inspire us to be a beacon of hope by showing joy,
compassion and forgiveness to others.
We ask this in your holy name.
Amen.
Theme Tune
The Jubilee theme of Pilgrims of Hope can be seen around school in our displays. Class worship and assemblies often include our hymn 'Singing Jubilee'.

Holy Door
We are thrilled to launch the Year of Jubilee at St Thomas Aquinas School with our beautifully decorated Jubilee Door! Inspired by the Holy Door at the Vatican, our door reflects some of the miracles that Jesus performed during his ministry. Each panel reminds us that, through Jesus, we are offered hope for the future.
The Holy Door in Rome is opened during Jubilee years to signify the pathway to new beginnings and our school community is embracing this spirit with open hearts and minds. Let us walk together in faith and hope this Jubilee year.
Jubilee 2025 Launch
We gathered for a special assembly to launch the new Jubilee Year with the theme of Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has called all Catholics, around the world, to join this special time of renewal, reflection and spiritual growth together.
Pope Francis says, “Hope is the virtue that sets our hearts on fire to walk forward. The Jubilee will help to foster a climate of hope and trust as a sign of a renewed faith.”
He asks that during this sacred year, we strengthen our commitment to prayer, reconciliation, and service to others.

The Jubilee Prayer
By praying the official prayer, we join with our global family, to use the same words to express gratitude to God for the Jubilee experience and request the grace of forgiveness.
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
