Pastoral Area Jubilee Mass

To celebrate the Jubilee Year, over 400 people from parishes and schools across the pastoral area gathered to celebrate a special Mass together at St Paul’s School. Fr Francis was joined by other priests and spoke of the joy and hope that Christians should share with their community.

The banners were paraded and the hall was full of displays of the good works and parish ministries that take place. The celebration continued as we enjoyed a ‘bring and share’ meal together.

Diocesan Schools’ Jubilee Mass

Members of the School Council and STA Mission and Prayer team joined many other schools at St Mary’s Church in Dunstable to celebrate Catholic Education and the Jubilee Year of Hope.  Canon Michael Harrison (an ex-pupil) reminded us that it is good to be hopeful people, looking towards the future. But he also reminded us that it is God who knows what we need for the future and that might not always be what we want! To be hopeful, we must trust God.

The Gospel today was: Luke 4:16-21   We will proclaim good news to the poor.

During the Mass, the children from Faith teams were commissioned to be ‘missionary disciples’ and they took a promise to live their lives by the example of Jesus, through their words and actions.

We met Canon Michael at the end of Mass for a chat and photo.
