Year 4M

Making Maya Masks

As part of their History topic on the Maya, 4M made masks out of papier mache. It was a messy process but their finished masks were worth it.

Making Healthy Pizzas

4M have been looking at what a healthy, balanced diet is and using this knowledge we have designed, made and eaten our own healthy pizzas, which included plenty of vegetables and even fruit!  We tasted different pizzas and compared their ingredients to see how healthy each one was. We were surprised to see that the cheese feast was the pizza with the highest fat content.

Bletchley Landfill Site

4M went on a very informative trip to Bletchley Landfill Site. We found out about how much waste is dumped there (900 lorries a day), how it is managed, how they use the methane gas and that they use hawks to scare away the seagulls.

Rubbish!

4M’s Geography project is looking at a local environmental issue, namely Bletchley landfill site. We decided to look at what the school threw away. One afternoon we collected all the bins from each classroom and the next morning we emptied it out onto the classroom floor and sorted through it. The results were surprising. We calculated that about 85% of the rubbish could have been recycled or composted!

Anglo Saxon Pouches

4M have been learning how to sew!  We designed and made a small bag in the style of an Anglo Saxon pouch and were delighted with what we made.
