“I have called you by your name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

Nativity

Nativity Assembly 2013

We ended our journey through Advent with a lovely Nativity assembly and liturgy. It was calm and candles were flickering on the Advent Wreath.

The Children’s Chaplaincy Team told us how busy they had all been getting ready for the festive season but helped all the children and staff to slow down and focus on the very exciting story of the first Christmas. Year 3 Children helped by acting out the events of a story that we all know.

Mrs Hackett had a pile of presents, each wrapped in different type of wrapping paper and she asked some children to choose which gift to give the baby Jesus. Should the gift be to celebrate the birth of a baby boy, or a birthday present, or a golden gift for a king, or a gift wrapped in hearts or one in newspaper? We decided that, whatever we called the event, the birth of Christ, Our Saviour, was an important day to be marked with celebration and joy.
